THE ANCHOR CRAFTS STORY
Anchor Crafts was set up in 2000, as I always had the drive and ambition to open my very own craft shop.
The excitement of opening the door to the public was immense and exciting.
I have a love for crafts and in particular art. This was a stepping stone to showcasing my own works. Im so influenced by the beauty of the Kilrush area and in particular the west coast of Clare. I work on oils, acrylic, watercolours and in recent times have taken to the process of encaustic art, which involves manipulating wax around a board to create a priceless one-off piece.
I also make polymer jewellrey and love designing pieces to enhance my customers' requests.
Outside of Anchor Crafts, I am a member of the Kilrush Art Group. I'm the Lifeboats Operations Manager at the Kilrush RNLI station based on the River Shannon for the past 24 years.
I find it very rewarding and a great organisation to be involved with in the community.
